The secrecy cloud over National Security Advisor Ajit Doval missing out the USA meeting between Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dissipated. Neither Doval’s preoccupation with J&K assemblies nor his apprehensions over Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun’s criminal lawsuit saw him missing in action. During his American absence India’s intelligence intellectual Doval devoted full-time efforts cementing the Indo-France defence deal for fabrication of nuclear attack submarines, transfer of technology for 110 kilo-Newton thrust aircraft engines and fully weaponized underwater drones. All in a few days work, accomplished by singular minded efforts by India’s top spymaster. Apart from consistent interference in Indian political affairs by U.S. administration both tacitly (George Soros’ broadside on the Adani group) and not-so-tacitly (Gurpatwant Singh Pannun’s lawsuit), Indian talks also faltered with Americans over 16 General Electric F404 engines (promised by March 2024) being deliberately stymied for near two years by the latter notwithstanding stated objectives of INDUS-X (India-US Defence Acceleration Ecosystem). While Biden sought brownie points during his Modi meet-up, Doval set upon an accelerated emphasis on the Indo-French technology connection that now only awaits the official declaration, come September 30. Busy-as-a-bee Doval has not only tied up India’s defence deals for fifth generation fighter jets, nuclear attack subs and all-purpose drones but also, established a Russian channel to dissipate Indo-China tensions leading to new world order axis of nations including India, Russia, China, France, Australia and more set for an economic-defence common cause states enlarged grouping of the Global South.
