Vote Chori: Rohit Pawar Shows A Donald Trump’s Aadhaar Card To Drive Home Point

U.S. President Donald Trump finds himself in the midst of the ongoing controversy about electoral rolls in Maharashtra. As the state’s Opposition with allied parties demanded revised scrutiny and verification of electoral rolls before the upcoming local self-government elections, alleging glaring errors and ascribing it to access by politically connected third party agencies, they found Trump could help drive home their point well. NCP-SP MLA Rohit Pawar, nephew of Sharad Pawar displayed an Aadhaar card in Donald Trump’s name alleging how legislative constituencies had witnessed more than 30,000 outsiders in many electoral constituencies in the recent 2024 assembly elections after illegal entries in rolls. These allegations come in the wake of open admission at a Dharashiv public meeting by an Eknath Shinde legislator Vilas Bhumre that getting 20,000 migrant voters to vote for him had got him the winning edge in his election. Persistent Opposition allegations range from large-scale illegal entries bearing the same address, of names disappearing from electoral rolls within hours of errors being pointed out, of ruling BJP workers having third party access to electoral rolls and thus enjoying an unfavourable edge in polls. Former finance minister Jayant Patil pointed out how an erroneous entry disappeared from online rolls at 6 pm, within three hours of it being detected and pointed out. Not surprisingly, the Opposition has been insisting on no local polls till the rolls are corrected and even challenging to take polls on ballot papers.
